Yeah, I still have the coughing fits and such, but I think I’m getting slightly better, as I can at least speak now… still, another doc’s appointment awaits, we shall see how that goes.
As for the rest of my life, things have been starting to pick up again. After a week of what felt like solitary (is that the right word?) confinement, I’ve begun to get a life again. I have begun to see people, and as a result, have also managed to get myself onto a training course in Leicester about… wait for it… training! That’s right, as if I hadn’t enough already, I’m now a co-trainer in the Union! Not that I’m complaining (for a change), mind you, I am quite happy about it, it’s another thing to keep me occupied.
You may have noticed, but with all this time on my hands, I’ve been tweaking my website… a lot. For example, there is now a flash navigation circle on my home page, and I have completely changed Arcanos (the bug tracking system) to use a completely different back end. iDeskbook is steadily progressing too, though I had to return it to the MSI package format after I found a problem with the bootstrapper… ah well.
Not really got much more to say really, so I’ll leave it there for now.
Ok, another incredibly geeky sort of post coming up…
As you probably aren’t aware, I have a site wide bug tracking system at www.drnaylor.co.uk/bugs - the “drnaylor.co.uk Bug Tracking System”… not much of a name really, is it? Other companies name their products, for example, Mozilla’s solution is “Bugzilla”, there is “trac”, and more. Other names for differing projects are “Talos”, “Tamarin”, “SpiderMonkey”, “Sliverlight”, and so on. Granted, this bug tracking software was only modified by me, but I’d still like to give it a catchy name!
If anyone can come up with a catchy name that seems to loosely fit with the “Bug Tracking Genre”, please comment, either on this blog or in the bug tracking software system. I would have gone with Talos, only Mozilla got there first, and besides, I would have never come up with it otherwise! Just sounds so grand though!
If you give me a name and I choose it, I’ll credit the name to you in the tracking software, unless you opt out. So, please tell me if you don’t want your name in there if suggesting a name!
A bug quickly came to light which meant I had to quickly release 0.4.3. It is to do with events, and while I haven’t fixed the problem, as a temporary measure, you can only view upcoming events, you cannot view all your events, past and present. I am working on fixing the problem that is causing this.
I also have added links to my new Bug Tracking system, both in iDeskbook and on the web, which can be found at www.drnaylor.co.uk/bugs - so if you ever encounter an issue with iDeskbook, please report it there. The bug referred to by the above is bug #4, http://drnaylor.co.uk/bugs/view_bug.php?bug_id=4. If you don’t want to register, log in with “guest” and your e-mail address. It will not be stored, it is just a useless layer of security that I don’t know how to remove!
As always, iDeskbook can be found here… software.drnaylor.co.uk/ideskbook.
